Winchester 1892

I have a receiver and barrel for a model 1892 winchester. The threads on the receiver are pretty nasty. I read elsewhere the receiver and barrel are .809"-20. Does anyone know where I can get a tap and possibly die for this?

Re: MY 'New' Winchester 1892

Pricedo, you are absolutely right. I work in a gun shop and spend a lot of time cleaning and making minor repairs on many of the guns that come into the shop. In fact, not too long ago, I rebuilt a model 1892 (made in '93) for the boss. A real adventure trying to locate replacements, but I got it al...

.32-20 AMMO FOR MY "NEW" 1892

Is the ammo made by Remington and Winchester safe to shoot in my 120 year old gun, or should I go with the lower pressure versions like Black Hills and Ultramax?

Christmas Karma Ho-Ho WINNER is TEXASGUY go to LAST POST

I haven't spent much time on this forum. If this is against forum policy, please delete. Santa left me a keychain in my stocking. It has a plastic (Tupperware) miniature Glock 17 attached. If you'd like this as a belated Christmas present, leave a post on this thread. I'll pick a winner on Dec. 26 (...

Why do you want to know who refinished it? ..How does she shoot? I just like to research the history of my guns. Obviously, if it was originally a safe queen, a previous owner would not have gotten the work done. Won't know how it shoots until I get some ammo and can get to a range that allows rifl...

MY 'New' Winchester 1892

I recently acquired a Winchester Model 1892 in .32-20 caliber made in 1892. It was professionally restored and looks like new. I want to try to find out who did the restoration, but am new to this and don't know who to contact. Any suggestions? http://i1135.photobucket.com/albums/m631/Babalooie/Joes...

Re: Is it possible to design a more ugly revolver!!!!

IMHO if they sell it for the same price as the .38 Special, they'll sell a ton of them. There's a real need for an inexpensive and reliable .22 revolver. I used to have a ten shot S&W but sold it in a fit of ignorance. When I tried to buy another, I suffered massive sticker shock; too expensive ...

WHAT WOULD YOU DO? 1894CS or 92SRC

I have the 1892CS by Marlin and 92SRC by Rossi, both in .357. The Marlin is in near new condition; the Rossi has been used and shows it. The Marlin forearm is bulky, the Rossi is slim. The Marlin is definitely a "nicer" gun; the Rossi has a lot of character. I'm thinking of "thinning ...

Pravastatin was the one that did me in. I'm kinda gunshy right now. Remember that many people who are a 'candidate' for a 'statin' are so-called 'moderate risk' - meaning that out of every 100,000 of them, between 10,000 and 20,000 of them will have an MI or stroke during the next ten years; the WO...

There's a magazine called, Hemming's Motor News that's virtually nothing but ads. It's for serious collectors. You could possibly get top dollar for that gasket set by selling through them.
