Surplus WC820 is a good medium-high-load to heavy-load powder in 357 mag rifle. Dirt cheap, too, if you can find it. It didn't work for me with 38 special-level loads. The only problem I see with using cast bullets on soft skinned game is that they probably won't expand at all. That's good on big bears and some African game, but not deer.
