Re: New project rifle

How about a fast twist 270 Win that can handle those heavy bullets for the new 6.8? 30-06 is always a sound versatile choice to have around. 6.5-06, 280 AI, 338-06, 9.3x62 would all be interesting to play with. 308 is fine too probably my favorite for hunting. I like it in shorter actions though. M7...

I think the price is steep too but I’ve read a couple of articles with nice photos of course. It seems that Ruger treats this first model Marlin as a premium product taking heed of Remington’s bad start with the brand. The rifles are reported to be smooth with excellent fit and finish. Ruger also li...

I’ve been considering getting the Ruger carbine in 40. Should be quite a wallop at across the yard ranges and I inherited both a Glock and a Ruger SR40 with multiple mags for each. The carbine can take either with a housing switch. Been waiting for a 45 version for 1911 mags but doesn’t look like Ru...

Yeah kinda hard to get 38-40 to fit in my Firestar though. But I get what you mean. Truth is if you put 9 mm, 38, 357, 10mm, 44 Sp, and 45 auto in a blender with a caveat to fit double stack duty pistols and single stack subcompacts in 1990 you get the 40. A bear in one’s house is hardly the same as a bear in one’s backpack. Either way bears should leave us alone and not steal our food. The guy was justified. Sure he should have locked his door but things happen. The bear could easily break the door open any way. The bear was obviously way too comfort...

I have Varget, RL15, and BLC2 for 308 but there are many excellent choices. 4064 and 748 come to mind
