Re: About the Fading 41 Magnum...My Combo
Nice combo! Try 7.0 gr of 231 under a 215 gr LSWC for a light load in your revolver. Several of us at my local club have had outstanding success with this load. Speer's 210 gr Gold Dot over 18.5gr of 2400 works well as a hotter load. I haven't yet tested the same bullet over H110, although I have a ...

If you want to, go for it. Being better educated is almost always a positive thing. It might also help you get better employment in the future. Study what you're interested in. My degree is in Early Music (music before 1750) Performance. Believe it or not, it's helped me to get several jobs. I gradu...

5 different cartridges in one gun 6pt?!
That's gotta be a record of some sort.
A different caliber in each chamber!

Re: OT- Is the .41 Mag fading away?
I agree with previous posters that it has probably been fading since it's inception. IMHO, it's a terrific, and very much under-rated cartridge. With 7.0 gr. of 231 pushing a 210 gr. LSWC, it's very accurate, easy enough on the hands to shoot all day, and has PLENTY of power for a self-defense round...

We have neighbors in a similar situation. The couple was married and had two boys. Like some others have said, racking the slide is more a matter of technique than strength. Massad Ayoob has some good advice in, I think, "The Gravest Extreme". (One of his books, anyway....;-)) I let my wife pick a carry gun she liked, and she came back with a Ruger (P85?) - a HUGE semiau...

MountainSmith - I think you did just fine with the 44. I happen to love the 41 Mag, and there's a lot to be said for the 357, but in the hands of someone who knows what they're about, a 44 Mag levergun is NOT to be trifled with. Practice getting your first round on target as fast as YOU can ACCURATE...

Re: POLITICS - Supreme Court Decision on 2nd Tomorrow
The decision, while not perfect, could have been MUCH worse. At the very least it puts a BIG roadblock in the way of any jurisdiction that would attempt to outlaw handguns. The fact that the court admitted what anybody can read for themselves - that the right to bear arms is an individual right - ta...

Re: Firestorm of controversy,...30WCF vs 32 Win Spl
In the woods, lakes, and mountains of rural Amercia, the 35 Remington has been proving it's superiority over weedy, small-bore, flash-in-the-pan cartridges like the 30 WCF and (the clearly superior but in no way close to the 35 Rem) 32 Special since 1906. Men of taste and distinction have known this...
