You have received some great advice. The Speer bullets and 125 grain Sierras (either hand loaded or purchased in Federal cartridges) are great for PA deer. There are several derringers and small revolver/pistols out there. My only abvice is to not go overboard on caliber. There isn't much to hang on to and disperse recoil.

I'm not real familiar with that model scale but I always remove the beam from the base of my Hornady scale when I'm not using it so anything that shouldn't become magnitized, doesn't.

Try removing the beam from the base and leave it off for a day or so and see if that helps.

If your Marlin has the non-walnut hardwood stock, don't be surprised if it all but refuses to take the stain. I've had to revert to shoe polish and/or water based stains to get some color on those woods.

About two years ago I fit an old 8mm Mauser barrel to my one Winny 94 ... .323 is pretty close to .321 and the twist would allow heavier bullets.

I never finished the critter because we didn't have a .32 Spl reamer ... duh!

That was my brother's first and last deer rifle. Dad got it for him when he was about 11 or 12 ... he is now 56. It had taken a ton of deer and looks like he beat one to death with it but it still works perfectly.

I prefer a blade up front. I have a stash of T-C Renegade front blades I use. They're pretty wide but they are about all I can see. As far as accuracy is concerned, with a peep rear, I cal get inch and a half groups at 100 yards shooting from a bench.

I have friends who use the sabots and like them and some who don't. I also have friends who use the power belt bullets and like and don't like them.

Both types work well as long as your rifling twist and groove depth are not of the round ball type.

If memory serves me right, I replaced the "thingy that turns the cylinder" (the pawl) on one of them within the past year with a new one. Check the Numrich link for your part.
They can be a pain to install but they should be available.

My first rifle was a 340C and, except for the trigge, it was great. Wish I still had it. We get them at the shop fairly regularly.

I also havetwo of the 219's. The one has accounted for quite a few deer over the years. The description given was right on the money.

The name's Gerald or Gerry. The handle goes back to my muzzleloader targeting days. I was either older or younger than any one else so some called me Old Ger and some Ger Boy. I've aged a bit since then but Old Ger was taken when I signed up so I just combined the two.
