Re: Need a Winchester 94AE .357 Ejector

Sadly no. Thanks anyway. I might give Western Gun Parts in Canada a call though.

Re: Need a Winchester 94AE .357 Ejector

Call Midwest on Monday and ask for part number: U341900720. Griff I checked the Midwest site and the part number you mention is for an extractor, not an ejector, but thanks anyway. I did email Midwest some time ago asking for any advice but I never received a reply. It's not looking good  Bob H

Need a Winchester 94AE .357 Ejector

Gents I have a late model Winchester Legacy 94AE in .357 Mag. The gun is on it's second ejector which broke recently. It's the usual problem in that the pin has snapped off the main body of the ejector, but luckily I have the broken parts including the spring. I've tried everyone I can think of, inc...

Does anyone lube magazine springs?

Just wondered if anyone ever lubricates the long coiled magazine spring on their lever rifles? I know there are dry lubes about, but is it necessary to lube them at all? It concerns me that lube of whatever sort may rub off on the inside of the magazine tube and contaminate cartridges - we're always...

Re: Problem refitting side plate on Uberti 73 Winchester

Thanks for the tongue-in-cheek advice Griff; tempting, but I spend enough of my life cleaning my BP revolvers as it is!
Nice, clean shiny rifle...pretty. BP Noooooooooooooo! Well, maybe one day, when the newness has worn off.

Re: Problem refitting side plate on Uberti 73 Winchester

Thanks everyone. Took the rifle back to the dealer today and he just about did what you all suggested. Used a 2lb lump of lead bar and gave the side plate a couple of stout whacks which persuaded it to seat properly. Being a brand new gun, I didn't want to be the one to do it, but all's well, and th...

Problem refitting side plate on Uberti 73 Winchester

I recently bought a brand new Uberti Winchester 1873 in .44 WCF. Used it a couple of times and I'm very pleased with its smooth functioning and accuracy. Just made what turns out to be a bad move in removing the side plates for a look-see at the toggle link and a little oiling. After removing the si...

Re: Tumbling .44 WCF (44-40) brass

Took my new Uberti Winchester 1873 .44 WCF rifle to the range for its first outing today - torrential rain and high winds, but nothing was going to stop me trying it out! At least he firing point was under cover. The Uberti functioned flawlessly, and I'm very pleased with it. I also have one of the ...

Re: Tumbling .44 WCF (44-40) brass

Welcome to the forum. 8 grs of Unique is slightly less than the SAMMI maximum for the .44-40 cartridge. If your barrel is larger than the .427" diameter bullets (assuming cast), you may experience some leading and accuracy that could be improved upon using a larger cast bullet. Please keep us ...

Re: Tumbling .44 WCF (44-40) brass

Thanks for all the helpful replies, I'll go ahead and tumble as normal. Just loaded up my first 50 rounds, and the .427" 200 grainers seat real easy in the Starline cases, so I've given them a fairly heavy crimp with the Lee factory crimp die which should stop them moving. Is 8.0g Unique consid...

Tumbling .44 WCF (44-40) brass

Hi I'm an experienced reloader, but new to .44 WCF (44-40) and about to load my first 50 cases. I'm aware how thin the case necks are, and how susceptible to dinks and dings; in fact my first 200 new cases came well dinked. I'm wondering if any of you guys have experience of vibratory tumbling .44-4...
