I got a chance to take a look at the Winchester in question. They mislabeled it as a 94 with 26" barrel. It is really a Winchester 64 with a 24" barrel. If serial numbers are the same as the 94's they probably just looked at that and dated it assuming any Winchester lever is a model 94. It...

I believe you are correct...down to the pistol grip stock.

Looks like a Model 64...not a deluxe model either. Just mislabeled.

I've had mine for about 12 years. Put lots of .38 and .357 through it without a problem. It handles great and is easy for my wife to shoot also.

Maybe I've just been lucky?

It's my go-to bumming in the desert gun when I want a center fire instead of a .22.

It's at a pawn shop and they are asking $259 for it. I didn't get a good look at it yet, but I'm hoping to go by today and work a trade. We'll see how it goes!

I have both Model A and Model B Coonans. The earlier Model A has a link barrel like a 1911. It also does not have a beavertail and the hammer can really bite with a high grip. The Model B has a linkless barrel design and also has a beavertail grip...much more comfortable to shoot for me. Most issues...
