Re: Info on a Winchester 94?
I got a chance to take a look at the Winchester in question. They mislabeled it as a 94 with 26" barrel. It is really a Winchester 64 with a 24" barrel. If serial numbers are the same as the 94's they probably just looked at that and dated it assuming any Winchester lever is a model 94. It...

Thanks Scott...that was quick!
I believe you are correct...down to the pistol grip stock.
Looks like a Model 64...not a deluxe model either. Just mislabeled.
Thanks for your help!

I've had mine for about 12 years. Put lots of .38 and .357 through it without a problem. It handles great and is easy for my wife to shoot also.
Maybe I've just been lucky?
It's my go-to bumming in the desert gun when I want a center fire instead of a .22.

Is that a Crossman CO2 .22 air rifle at the bottom of the rifles? It looks just like the one my brother owned back in the 70's.

Winchester 94 RANGER
I have a chance to pick up a Winchester 94 RANGER at a pretty good price (for a RANGER). I have a 94 .357 Trapper that I will never part with. However, I need this 30-30. (of course, it's a need). I have both Model A and Model B Coonans. The earlier Model A has a link barrel like a 1911. It also does not have a beavertail and the hammer can really bite with a high grip. The Model B has a linkless barrel design and also has a beavertail grip...much more comfortable to shoot for me. Most issues...
