I've learned more here in the last 6 or so years, than all the gunshops and books could teach me in the last 60 years, and I'm 77. All my long guns are now lever actions, and my best handguns are single actions. I'm caught in a time warp, and I'm comfortable with it.

Gentlemen, I thank you all for your opinions. After weighing all these opinions, I will retain my AWA, and purchase a Ruger New Vaquero. The Ruger will be my go-to gun, for it's toughness, and the ability to find parts if needed. Zack

My wife's favorite gun is her Colt 1911, she took her ccl with it and out shot everyone else, On the other hand her carry piece is a S&W 3" model 60, with a longish grip. She shoots this pretty good also. She practices with .38 special 130 gr, solids, but when carrying the gun has .357 mag....

Has anyone seen one? Or were they just a figment of an ad person's imagination? I enjoy shooting my three Rossi's and was looking forward to being able to shoot .22"s. My Henry works fine, but I wanted something a little heavier.

My woods bummin' gun is usually my Rossi trapper in .45 Colt, or my AWA 4.75 in. SAA in .45 Colt, but since I bought my Ruger single six, it's my favorite woods sidearm. It carries and feel quite a lot like my AWA, and with the .22 mag cylinder it will handle anything I'll come up against around her...

I bought a new Colt 1991-A1, matte stainless steel about 8 years ago. Only one hicup, from a cheap mag. I only field strip it to clean it, and my wife uses it for her shooting classes with no problem. We do need better sights however. A little pricey, but a COLT!

How much power do you need? In my AWA Colt clone I use 8gr. of Unique under 250 gr. lead to get 860 fps., out of my 20" Rossi it gets just under 1100 fps. That will anchor most anything here in Texas. It's a nice fun load, and won't damage my guns.

My wife and I had ten hours of classroom and shooting at an indoor range to get our CCL. We shot 100 rounds, and were scored on the results. I'm happy for you, but I like our system better, it may cut out some deadwood.

Rossi trapper, in .45 Colt goes with when I walk the woods around my house almost every day. We have plenty of Hog sign, but my Lab, who acts like an unruly child, keeps me from connecting. The gun is almost as handy as a handgun.

Easy, Colt SAA, .45 Colt, Winchester 94, .30WCF. Both known worldwide. The '92 is a good choice, but most bandits, and warlords would out gun you with that gun.

I bought both in '61 in Huntsville Alabama. Wincheaster 94, 30WCF rifle with an octagon barrel cut to 18".My son now owns it. The single action was a Saur .22lr, traded it for a Ruger single six with both cylinders. Sold it to buy an old Colt DA, in .38 special.

My wife has had her carry license for about four years now. She took the course with her Colt 1911, but carries a S&W model 60, for ease of use. She walks with confidence where ever she goes. We can't convince her twin sister to do the same, even though she works all hours in Fort Worth.

Gentelmen, I will be reloading 45-70 for the first time, and I would like a good accurate, hunting load using IMR3031, and 405 gr. Remington soft point bullets. I will be using this to hunt with this year, and don't expect to have shots much over 100yds. I have never loaded anything this size before...
