Re: My First Post...a rant about the USPS

If you ship via Postal Service, always use Registered Mail for shipping high-value merchandise of any type: it stays locked up at all times during transit and is signed for every time the package changes hands. The peace of mind is worth the slight increase in shipping cost--which might still be che...

Don't overlook the need to maintain a water supply for the horse in freezing temperatures. Worst case scenario, you will have to just chop through the frozen ice periodically.

If the front end gets light from overloading the back, you can always steer with the brakes--just go slow. Also, with the bucket on the front end, a scoop of rock/dirt will probably cover you for extra weight on a tractor that size. I can't speak to ballasting the rear tires--I never had to do much ...

Estate sales always sadden me just a little: Some fella works his whole life to collect (and pay for) something he cares about. Once he dies, his family picks through everything like buzzards; take what they want, and just sell the rest.

Oh well. You can't take it with you.

If you just interrupt the fuel supply the guy might burn up the starter trying to crank it, if he figures out how to get it to turn over. Instead, I'd consider some sort of ignition cutoff switch. Single-action revolvers hearken to a bygone era, albeit one that popular culture has romanticized, dramatized and distorted until contemporary (say, the last hundred years) perception only vaguely resembles the reality of that time.

Besides, they just plain get the job done.
