I used to do it all the time. I was born and raised in the mountains in Idaho and Montana. It was my favorite type of fishing and time of year. I have lived in the South now for over 20 years. Haven't had a chance to do it much here. I do miss it, and the "BIG" big game too.

Yes you can save a lot of money reloading. Of course I do it for a lot of different calibers that show a much greater savings than the 30-30 will. The one thing I have noticed for my own personal experience is when I reload I tend to shoot more, which of course costs more. But you have many more fun...

Sure do. Paco has some great info on loading for it at the Leverguns homepage and then articles. I killed two bucks this year with my Rossi 1892 with 260 gr. Speer JHP over 20gr. of 2400. Worked great. I was pretty close about 40 and 60 yrds. Pretty thick woods here in NC where I hunt.

I have a Win. 1886 modern (U.S.R.A/Miroku) Extra Light. On the left side of the reciever there are two very small screws about one inch apart from one another. Are these pre tapped holes for a reciever peep site? I would like to buy and mount one but really don't want to drill holes.

For my Marlins I remove lever and bolt and clean from breech. The Wins. I fill with bore scrubber and run a bore snake through about six times from the breech. This gets all the big stuff. Then brass cone and fine clean with patches through muzzle.

Do you guys find them a problem by having them on the tang ie: are they in the way of your hand for shooting, holding etc. Or is it just one of those little things that the benefits of shooting with a tang site far out weigh the small inconviences.
