When I got mine the wood was dry and rough. The fore stock was a little loose and didn't match up perfectly with the receiver. I just put a couple coats of boiled linseed oil on it. Don't know if that was dumb are not but it fixed it. The stock looks great, matches the receiver perfectly and does no...

It may be a theory, but it is one I agree with.Jason_W wrote:

What are the differences between the modern 94 cowboy pistol caliber Marlins and the original 94 receivers as it relates to there size and functional parts? By original I meen the originals manufactured in 1894.

Yes you can save a lot of money reloading. Of course I do it for a lot of different calibers that show a much greater savings than the 30-30 will. The one thing I have noticed for my own personal experience is when I reload I tend to shoot more, which of course costs more. But you have many more fun...

Nice collection. Tell me about your flinter, is it a Traditions Kentucky? How do you like it? You hit it on the head. It shoots great as long as you use real black and not subs. You really have to keep the flash hole clean. I have some little brushes I found that work real well. If I run them throu...

I won't knock it outright; but for me, personally, it falls somewhere between surreal and silly. One has to ponder what the real folks being emulated from 100+ years ago would think of it all if they could see it today. If I'm not mistaken, they didn't spend their weekends running around in knee br...

Thanks JimT, I can't believe shooters are criticizing other shooters. Lets leave that to the whackos on the left. It is a lot of fun where you make friends with many like minded shooters. If they don’t think it is a challenging sport, they are dead wrong. Many of these shooters are extremely good....

Peep for 1886
I have a Win. 1886 modern (U.S.R.A/Miroku) Extra Light. On the left side of the reciever there are two very small screws about one inch apart from one another. Are these pre tapped holes for a reciever peep site? I would like to buy and mount one but really don't want to drill holes.

My first gun was a levergun. I guess I was about eight years old. This would put it about 1965. Dad gave me a BB gun that was an axact replica of a Win. 94. It even weighed almost as much. The BBs loadded through the loading gate. It was a well built great little gun. Unfortunatly I have no idea whe...

Mike in WV. My experience with precision shooting, I get the tightest groups with a slightly fouled barrel. Then when I clean, the POA is not different enough to make scope adjustments but the group opens up until I get six or eight rounds through it. This is not the case for all the rifles I have b...

Need to get tang sites for some of my Levers
Do you guys find them a problem by having them on the tang ie: are they in the way of your hand for shooting, holding etc. Or is it just one of those little things that the benefits of shooting with a tang site far out weigh the small inconviences.
