Tractor Supply carry Cannon safes with that great Cannon warranty. They are without some of the bells and whistles but you can buy the 48in. IIRC for $900.

The level of spring noise is different as you wear different hearing protection. Plugs vs. muffs etc. I have one set of muffs when I shoot I swear all I can hear is the buffer spring. I have shot in the field hunting with no hearing protection and don't hear the buffer spring at all.

This is by far the best forum on the net IMHO. When I think about the reasons I feel this way, they are many. It's real simple. If it were to change I sure would not be here. I like it the way it is. Please don't change. And thanks to all that work hard to keep it that way.

I didn't think to ask if they were going to hunt over bait or with dogs. He is hunting them in NC so it could be either way. He is a real stickler for accuracy, and he might be thinking of buying this rifle. I told him he should be able to get about 2 1/2 inces at 100 yrds. Would that be about right?

The mustangs we used to get from the mountains of southwestern Idaho and northern Nevada made fantastic mountain horses.Very sure footed trail horses. We used them in the Fed. Wilderness of the "River of No Return" and the "Sellway Basin".

My Great, Great Grandfather and his family made that trip to settle the Salt Lake Valley. He was then sent by Brigham Young to settle the Bear Lake Valley in southeast Idaho. There my family still resides.
