I love both of my Rossi M92's. As for cycling smoothly, neither was supper slick out of the box, but they did become quite smooth with much use. I never felt that I needed to send them anywhere to make them any slicker.

I would also recommend Steve's DVD to work on that extractor.

Good luck!

If I were in an urban survival mode, I don't think that my requirements would be any different than being in a backwoods survival mode. I was able to run a filter on the ammunition data points and pulled just 20" barrel ballistics for the modern cartridges. None of the .357 Magnum data points had quite the numbers that you were able to chrono, but the chart is now more representative of real-world 1892 rifle ballistics. (You lo...

gglas's comparison chart above, uses rifle data for the older calibers while it uses pistol data for the newer calibers . This makes his chart pretty meaningless when comparing calibers in a carbine. Here it is modified with rifle data for the 38spl+P and 357mag from my chrono data in my 20" 3...

You cannot go wrong with the Rossi 1892 replicas. When Winchester left the 1892 market in 1941, Rossi and a couple other manufacturers stepped in to build quality rifles to fill the market void. Rossi has been building 1892's for a very long time, and they know what they are doing. Rossi does make a...

I posted this chart in another thread about the .357 Magnum and hunting. This chart show the average muzzle velocity and muzzle energy of the original Winchester 1892 calibers (except the 218 Bee) and the modern calibers. I will jump on the peep sight bandwagon, but that does not answer the inertia question. I too find that larger heavier rifles are difficult to change direction or reacquire a target on the move. IIRC, some of the Rossi.44 Mags were made with oversize bores, and aren't particularly accurate - although the price may be attractive. This is not the case with the newest Rossi 1892 Puma .44 Magnums. Mine is one of the "not so Western" scoped scout models and I cannot believe the accura...
