Joe, I've heard of a few guys that have bought sporting stocks - plastic - for the 303 and use that to hunt with and keep the wood safe. Makes the rifle a whole lot lighter as well. Just a thought.

This might be off topic, I'm not sure, but I watched this movie tonight on dvd. What a good western. Lots of levergun action. Not sure what models but definitely Winchester. I guess most of you guys would have seen this movie. Just wanted to recommend it to those that have not.

Thanks for the advice fellas. Unfortunately the 3" group was at 50 yards.........now you know why I am disappointed. Sounds like the receiver peep might be the way to go.....worth a try anyway. Not too happy about putting a scope on it, however, having said that, I will if needs be.
