when I had it re-barreled we found the 30 cal rotor wouldn't allow the rifle to
have more than 2 rounds in the mag. there is a difference where the
bullet dia is on the rotor. if you went the other way you don't need
to change it. ie 30cal to 7mm-08.

Oh .. when I had my 99e converted to 358win from 308 I had to have
a 358 mag rotor put in you might have better luck if you change out
your 303 to a 358 ...

the 5th gear is your over drive, should be about .75 or .79 x 1 .. that is what
allows you to cruse the hwy at a reasonable RPM.
that's a good deal even if you replace the trans with a re-build ..

I cut up a pair of cheap (2.00 @ a thrift store) 100% cotton jeans ... put a bunch of the squares in a Qt paint can (never used) punched in a 1/8" hold in the top and threw it on the grill .. and Bam !!!!!! a double hand full of char cloth .. tried them in my fire piston, and with a blast match...

Check out Accuracy Systems and their website. They have just what you want, although they are proud of it ($$$). practice, I'm in the front royal area for about 5+ weeks,

I'm thinking about a light weight 22mag for my hiking/hunting pack, I'm between the taurus 941 5" or the charter arms 4" 22mag. I want lite and more of a "live off the land" type gun, to bad no one makes a low cost alloy frame 22mag, in a small frame. thoughts ????? Talon

if you decide to keep it 308 .. I have a complete 99F barrel with sights and good riflling you can have. I had mine re-barreled in 7mm-08 by Mazy's in Arizona, they have done two 99's for me, the 99F in 7mm-08 and a 99E from 308 to 358win ... I would trust them again if I need another one done. this...

just came back from back east, and as I was going I dropped off 2, 336 marlins in 30-30 to G Reeder, I pick them up on my return. I had him ream out the chambers to his 30 gnr. I'll be looking to get 2700fps with 135grns projectiles. I have a contender he did a few years back works great. anyway .. ...
