Hobie, about buying that AR-15................

Hopefully, none of us will ever need one in the gravest circumstances, but it can also do many things other than just save your hide.

This is almost 5 years old, but still relevant:

The .454 is assembled differently, with a screwed-in mag tube. When in doubt, ALWAYS ask the ammo maker.

I can you fellers from experience, that when any of these factory reps tell you that a gun is sighted in, that means absolutely nothing, and any gunwriter knows that. It is irresponsible and lazy to take a rifle and shoot it at game without checking the zero first.

Neither you nor the game will be able to tell the difference. Might seem a little louder, and the velocity will be just a little less, but nothing to worry about.

Just stand 2 inches closer to the target.
Makes sense, if you try not to think about it. :-)

My pictures are of the sights on a .480 Puma. You might have to get another blade and pin into the block.

Mine came with this Firesight on it:

It is the same model as used on the 94 Angle Eject. I did change the front sight, but that depends upon you caliber and load. Here is a list of Smiths recommended by XS:

Yes you can. I have an XS on mine. Works great. You will have to drill and tap, but it makes a fine setup.

Gentlemen, It is a lot simpler than some of you are trying to make this. Ruger makes what will sell. They have a lot of tooling that can be used to make what the public will buy. Ruger will sell probably 500 auto pistols for every Old Army. I love the Old Army. It is the best and strongest cap and b...

That is very interesting. Where could one purchase mercury in that quantity?
I don't know of a good source now. I bought my supply back in 1988 from a chemical supply company in Seattle, Washington.

Again, Sir, perhaps I wasn't clear. For that I apologise. I stated that the new Marlin XL7 was better than the Remington 710. I must have misunderstood your post. Remington makes a lot of good rifles, but the 710 is not one. In fact, that is why they no longer make it. Again, forgive me for not bein...

While it is priced close to the Remington 710, it is a far superior rifle! That's just your opinion. Edit: Doesn't make it a fact. My opinion has nothing to do with it. Ask any gunsmith who has ever worked on a Remington 710. The local gunsmith here has worked on many that was sold by the Wal Mart ...

I agree that there are no earthshattering innovations in this new rifle. As stated in the review, there are features from many different guns used in the new Marlin. However, these features, for this price is news. While it is priced close to the Remington 710, it is a far superior rifle! In real do...
