Re: .300 Blackout or .357
I just picked up a Rossi 92 in 357 a couple months ago. Mine was rough out of the box, but has slicked up very nicely just working the action watching TV. Accurate, light, easy to carry and hits hard. I like AR15's, but love leverguns. My vote is for a 357.

Re: Recent Rossi 92
Some years ago at an AR15 site was a shooting challenge by a gunsmith for all the people who post one great group off a bench, but really can't shoot. I am not by any means claiming to be one of those who can shoot, but the challenge was holding 10 rounds off hand at 50 yards on a grapefruit. Hence ...

. I like that nice fiddleback figure in the buttstock; but I've never heard of pre-soaking a wood stock in hot water before applying a finish - could you please expand on the why & wherefores ? . The dye that Rossi uses in the stocks appears to be water based and not very durable. Just with per...

In light of the lack of lever gun posts might I share my newest rifle. Picked it up from Buds last month. I wanted a stainless 16" but waited too long and ended with a blued 20. It was rough out of the box as Rossi's tend to be, wouldn't feed more than 2 rounds in the magazine tube, but shot to...

your post pushed me over the edge. Dropped the hammer on a 20" 357 today. I had trouble deciding between the compactness of a 16, and the balance and shootablility of a 20. Decided a 20 would be a bit quieter and went with it. I am going to put my 24" 45 Colt up for sale to pay for this on...

to sell a rifle I don't use before I buy this one. If they are coming that well put together maybe I should just go ahead.

I have mine in an old Ted Blocker and had a Lobo Gunleather holster made up for mine. No issues with fit at all. Give it a good 500 or so cycles while your watching your favorite tv show before your next outing. Then as others have said, give a a really good shot of oil and try some better ammo. See if that doesn't cure the problem.

Try the 100 grain 327 loads from Federal. They have shot the best so far in mine.
Screaming little things. Very loud and overkill for anything short of a coyote or jackrabbit, but they are really fun when you touch one off. I am curious about how well the soft points will penetrate.

I will ditto the LMT recommendations. Yes Colt is the benchmark and builds fine rifles. Many other makes are building good rifles also. I have a Colt target rifle, and a LMT, and my work rifle is a S&W. I have the most rounds downrange with the LMT and it just plain runs.

Michigan has had this change in the law tied up now for years. As I understand it the DNR is against the change because of problems enforcing it. Now in the shotgun zone you can use ML rifles and straight walled pistols, but not pistol rounds in a rifle. Makes no sense at all.
