I like Jack said am going backwards but have the 30-30 as my favorite lever gun, man the savage 99
in the guns i have are a close 2nd but what cartridge? so the 30-30 wins on all its merits
the 32-20 brass is always a pain to find in brown grass

I also love my boots, for the last 40 years my main work boot has been Whites, logger style as thats what i used to be, i still wear them as i have 4 pair for the rest of my life, i think they do make a cowboy boot, but some guys i know have the Wilson boot & they say they are the best for a kic...

That is a fine shooter!
I did look too see if i ever shot jacketed out of my old Marlin & found i used 30-31 with a speer 170 gr.
and it was more accurate than the cast bullet but both did well enough for me

Very nice pair of classic old guns, the Savage looks to be a fine shooter & i am sure the
32-40 will be also, have only shot cast bullets in a 32-40 with good results & any Savage from
1895 on up to the later 375 Win has always done me well

I can safely get 1800 fps with 2400 powder with a 200 gr. xtp bullet in a 1894 Marlin 44-40. with a 265 gr. Hornady & RL7 I was getting close to 1400 fps & 1400 fps with a 245 gr. cast bullet also with RL7. no ill effects with any of the loads. I may play with more RL7 in the case with the 4...

Another one here for Titegroup, i use it in 32 H&R - 38 spl - 357 - 38-40 - 44-40 - 45 colt all
with cast bullets & mid range loads, works great for me, i do triple check for a double charge

I like that a lot & with the sights it ought to be sweet
have a ruger birds head 45 colt in the older heavy vaquero with a 45 4 5/8 bbl. had to learn to hang on a bit different
than the blackhawk :shock: after that I could shoot it pretty fair with my 1955 eyes

Sorry on the mold number as it has none, just weighed some & they were around 178 gr, with gc maybe the 190s were
mostly pure lead with a bit of tin ? they were for the old 32-40, the lighter ones was for the 32 spl. with ww

I also like the 32 spl, mine is a src made in 1911 and smooth as silk, have a old ideal mold that casts a bullet around 190 gr.
also have a 1893 Marlin in 32-40 and they both shoot same bullet very well

During the Obama drought I bought 5 lbs of TiteGroup & use it in 3 45 colt revolvers, works great! Hodgdons annual manual says its not position sensitive & with a 225 gr. cast bullet should get you close to the 1000 fps goal I use it in 32 H&R, 38 spl, 357 mag. 38-40, 44-40 & 45 colt...
