I have only been a part of 1 animal not really recovered. It was this year. A good friend hit a Big 10 pointer, and he looked all day! I found the animal 1/2 mile away the next day 3/4 eaten by Coyotes. The Deer was hit Right in the shoulder from a 270, and never exited. In my mind the bullet was tu...

Re: Question for marlin 336 - 356 winchester conversion owners
IMO, the .356 is too much cartridge for the Marlin's single locking lug, thin sides and barrel threads. The standard SAAMI specs for the .356 Winchester indicate 50,000 PSI. You would have to load the cartridge WAAAAAY down to be safe in a 336. Stick to the cartridges the gun was designed for. I to...

Cold weather BLR problem
Guys, To make a long story short my BLR in 308 failed me on a 140 class Buck last Saturday. I fired all 4 shells i had in it, and all went click. Firing pin hit, but too small a dent to go off. I let the gun warm up later, and all 4 shells then fired. I set the gun outside for 3 hours, and the same ...

A very Good, and Interesting read Bruce! I also have learned to adjust to the trigger on my BLR. I love the rifle in every way except I just wish it had a heavier barrel to make the longer freehand shots at Whitetails from my tree stand. I just may look into this if it is a possibility in any way.

Had to think on this one. I would love a Marlin 336 in 35 Rem, one of the older Pre-safety rifles. Just like the one Terry got from Santa last year, that would make my XMAS.
