I handled the newer Bushnell that combines binos and an LRF. It looked pretty good and ranged well over 1000 yards. It's been getting good reviews elsewhere on the internet.

A groundhog, some jackrabbits, and quite a few prairie dogs with my 9422M. Not a thing with my centerfires (I only have the 9422M and a Trapper 357 left now anyway). I had a Trapper 44 and a Guide Gun but never shot any critters with them.

If you are wanting something that you can use for up close as well as long range, you might want to look into an aimpoint and a magnifyer. The aimpoints come wth dots that are either good for either 2 moa or 4 moa. The magnifyers mount behind the the red dot rectical. If you need to clear a room yo...

$750 for the 625 might be a little high, unless it is ANIB w/ all papers and tools. $400 for the Model 66 is a good price. I paid $300 for a 2 1/2" 66-1 this past February and felt like I got a pretty good deal. You sure did, rarely around here do you ever see a 2 1/2 19 or 66 up for sale, whe...

The Surefires, and the better Streamlights will hold up long term to hard use. I still use a Streamlight SL20 I bought in 1989. I've got a number of the Surefire G2 Nitrolons (under $40) and they are excellent lights. The LED versions cost more but give longer battery life.

A 4" Security Six was my first issued service handgun (I wish I had bought it when we traded them in). It had the rubber square butt grips that worked well. I do like the Hogue style of grip, you might look at the options they offer in various woods.

I agree with the laser grip suggestions. I'd consider getting the CA girl a Glock 19 or the 26 instead of the equivalent models in 40S&W. The J or K frame 38 for the other makes a lot of sense too. I'd stick with 38 and/or 9mm as opposed to the 32s simply for the ease of finding practice ammo.

From what I understand the 168s work well at least to 600 yds. People shooting much past that with the 308 seem to prefer the 175/178 grain bullets. I did shoot a match a few months ago that went out to 550yds. I used factory Hornady ammo with 155 TAP bullets and they seemed to work well; I don't kn...

One of the pictures reminded me: when we used the Mini30s as patrol rifles we found the flip up rear sights as on the Ranch rifles to be pretty fragile. I replaced them all with Williams peeps at the time. I think XS sights makes a replacement for the factory sight now also.
