I realize you might already have an 8mm barrel you want to do something with, but if not (and you want to be different) - why not a .25/444 ? I think you'd have a ballistic equivilent of a .25-06 levergun, w/o going to a BLR. . Ok now that would be cool! Or maybe a 22 cal, see if we could get close...

Ok I received my loaded 348 ammo from the Huntin Shack, three boxes of 20 $109.14 shipped, now to see how they shoot.
The price, in my opinion for loaded ammo is good considering one box of Winchester ammo costs almost that much!
Just thought I would share!

+1 on the Colt, for all the reasons mentioned above, that is all I can add, I love mine way more then I do my 44 Mag, I reload for both, the only 357 mag that I liked was a Desert Eagle but I don't have it any longer, still got the other two tho!

Keep me in mind on the 22-250, I had a Remington 700, like an idiot got rid of it, then got a Remington, don't know the modle, it used a clip magazine, gave it to my son because I have a Ruger M77 in 270, which is also good for varmints but dang I still have the yearning for those 22-250s
