That's a great road trip Jim. There's some good moto grooves on the AZ 2 lanes. US 70 back to Lordsburg is amazing and beautiful and has its own tone, a different vibe, its own narrative perhaps, if there is such a thing . . . I like not driving the interstates .... the "back roads" are m...

Earl, as someone who rarely casts more than 100 at a time, that's a pile of boolits! I have had one Arsenal mold -- in brass -- and loved that thing. I confess to having mostly Lee molds but when I use an Arsenal or one of Tom's Accurates, I feel like I stepped up from a Ford Pinto to a Lincoln Tow...

Wonderful bullet casting weather this week so once again got the melt going. This time I broke out Arsenal's 5-cavity 70 grainer. 2520Mould0619.jpg This is another of my moulds that just spills gobs of bullets with no drama and hardly a reject to be found. I can't say that about all my moulds, so wh...

Well, it'd be the same as what goes on the Win m92 and I have one of each. On the elderly Redfield there is absolutely no marking that I can see. The elderly Lyman must be a 68 instead -- it says it is a "68LA".

I have several weapons that shoot this cartridge and was running low on bullets -- as in figuring I have enough for the Memorial Day shoot but not enough to refill 'em afterward. Most of my "hunting" these days is also of the steel variety -- we shoot small levers out to 200 yards (chicken, baby buffalo, turkey, ram) and then steel buffalos on out to 500 yards with the bigger levers such as 30/30 and 38/55. And a very fun "pistol caliber lever" shoot from...

Coupla' things about reloading the 38/40. Yes, they make up real easy from a 44/40 case. But be sure there is no hint of a dent in the 44 case mouth before running it into the 38/40 die or you'll have a neck wrinkle. Doesn't take much -- you can "round out" the necks with a hand-held '06 c...

Save yer money Napthali. If a 303 case drops to the head the rifle is still in 303. Or at least it isn't chambered in 308 win.
