Re: Question about Florida snake problem
So, correct me if I'm wrong. Because this is a national park, the Burmese python which is an invasive, introduced species, which threatens the entire ecosystem in the park, is protected by the national park? Have I got that right? Not intentionally. They want to protect the native species and don't...

Re: Question about Florida snake problem
Yes. Florida does have a Python Round-up once a year. They get maybe 70 snakes. :? Because it's designated a park there is no open season. (I think it's to prevent "accidental" killing of native species like alligators and tortoises. What's personally more interesting to me is that even in...

I went with a Tegra Arms lower and a Bushmaster 16" A4 upper in 5.56/.223. It cost me around $550 and works fine for my needs. I recommend getting around 10 magazines (Your choice on size. I went with 30 rounders.) and some ammo. You can get decent prices from GunBot. http://www.gunbot.net/ammo...

Re: Question about Florida snake problem
The snakes are so bad that they are actually keeping the wild rabbit population stagnant! I wouldn't worry about the snakes too much longer though. The discovery of invasive Nile Crocodiles will take care of them soon enough. http://cdn1.theinertia.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/croc-670x383.jpg htt...

Got back from the show and a new friend followed me home. A Winchester 94 in 30-30. It's a 1974 vintage according to the vin. (Thanks to Winchester Resources in the article page.) I was really planning on a new Mossberg 464 brush gun, but I just couldn't pass this up. It was only $375! :o The barrel...

Re: Mew 30-30. Marlin or Mossberg
So here's the plan: I'm going to the gun show this Sunday. There I will be on the look out for used Winchester 94s in the 1977 to 81 year range (serial number 4,463.552 to 4,891,952 range), Mossberg 464s (straight stock) with a lean towards the Davidson's brush gun. (Hoping to see one). If I find a ...

Re: Mew 30-30. Marlin or Mossberg
With a .357, and good 180gr loads, I don't need another 30wcf, in my unexpert opinion. I'm also probably going to get out of the .44 mag business, too. Argh! No! Stop! You're tempting me too much! :D I had such heartbreak with my Remlin 94 .357 Jam-o-matic that I don't want to risk it again on a Ro...

The main thing that stops me from wanting the Henry in the lack of a traditional loading gate. I want that gate and the ability to top off the mag tube if needed. 99% chance I won't need it, yet I still want it.

Re: Mew 30-30. Marlin or Mossberg
When I got mine I sat down in front of the TV and cycled it about 300 times. The lever started to feel slippery and I realized that coating had sanded the skin off the back of one of my fingers. In Marinecoat I had two choices. The Cabela's with a 20 inch barrel or the Davidsons with a 16 inch. Bot...

Re: Mew 30-30. Marlin or Mossberg
Thanks. The Davidson's brush gun is actually what I am interested in though I haven't made a final decision. It gets very wet where I live and I like the idea of having to worry less about rust. I am fairly handy and should have no trouble polishing the parts if I do go this route. To be honest, I l...

I know there's been some reviews of them a while back, but I was wondering if any of you have any updates, new thoughts, or experiences with your Mossberg 464.
