Yes to both questions. 1958 Sweet Sixteen, a several year old 870 Wingmaster, and my dad's old Cresent Arms single shot. The later is the first shotgun I ever shot. I hunted with it for a few years until Dad passed down his JC Higgins 12 ga pump to me. To darn hard to find ammo so I reload

How do you cook them things? I shot one up in Montana a few years ago and we smoked it. Worse textured and tasting thing I have ever smoked. The pheasant we smoked at the same time was great. Won't be shooting anymore unless I hear of a good recipe

Somethings don't take forever at Duncan's others do.They have done recoil pads, sight installation and a trigger job on various guns for me in two to three weeks. You shouldn't have a Dana 44 in that vehicle. They are decidedly different in size so a quick measurement should do it. I can't help with guides but if the cost of hunting is a concern, I would opt for more hunts on public land than 1 expensive hunt with a guide. Time around a good camp fire with friends on a fine evening is more valuable to me than taking an animal with a guide.

Not knowing your capabilities I won't comment on the ranges you are discussing. Definately out of my league. As I recall Browning chambered BLRs in the 300 win mag. That would be my choice if I were considering such an undertaking.
