Fellas any idea whether a Rossi 1892 will stabilze this bullet at decent speeds, say 1450-1600fps? If anyone has run them in a marlins 1:38 twist would be interested to hear as well.

Wvfarrier thats interesting to know. Thats the 38 special designed bullet, expands down to 850fps or so. Never tried it at carbine speeds as I thought it would be frangible.

About the only footage out there- a gent from Europe loading them in 357. In the second vid he chono's 924fps from a 4" barrel and 1087fps from an 1894 carbine.

wondering similar doc. Are they much longer than a standard 180gn JHP. They may be okay with the 1:16 twist of ruger 77/357 or 1:18 of new marlins and 1873 repros.

You have to select the no 9 load to see it. That seems pretty hot for a 38! That’s 45 ACP performance. Yes I get it’s soft lead that can be pushed faster than coppery things but still. Some nice bubba setups above. My rossi 357 blued 20" has a C2 osram flashlight under the mag tube with remote pressure switch and Bushnell red dot. Have considered cerakoting it too for weather resistance, but dont know enough about it

Anyone use this calibre fellas? Wondering if there is there a real difference in power over 308 or is it more of an armchair ballistics increase. I was thinking the ability to use heavy pistol bullets like 158gn or 180xtp in a pinch would be useful too- for those who may have a lot on hand

I dont think it matters what is linked to fuel. Folks forget the elephant in the room that normal business in the world was hamstrung for near two years, a bunch of small business has been gobbled up. The result is inflation across most sectors and to he honest the damage still hasnt hit yet.

Just wondered what the consensus is for heavy (or long)44 bullets in Rossi's 1:30 twist? At lower velocities , say subsonic to 1200fps range, will the various 240 JHP and cast bullets stabilise? What about 300 grain XTP at any velocity?

There was a 400 grain XTP as well in factory ammo. 1100fps at muzzle and 1027fps at 50 yards on the box. I remember wondering if it would still expand at those speeds.
