Well GIs keep the cans out in the weather hence the gasket but it isn't good for prolonged storage. This is why the military's ammo bunkers are earth covered. That helps modify the temperature extremes without costly heating and/or air conditioning. My wife can't see through steel and count rounds.....

22K is in trapdoor range, but I wonder if how much the shorter case would affect pressure if using trapdoor loads That isn't what he said. He is speaking of pressure. Different cartridges so different loads. No .45-70 in the '76 for a reason. Back to the .50-95... Now there is a cartridge for the 2...

What's your soultion? Let the Sunnis and the Shiites have their civil war. Iraq will divide the ruins into three states: Kurds, Sunnis, and Shiites. We have zero business in someone else's civil war. After the division, we can easily use Cruise missiles to keep the leaders of each faction under con...

Tubby, I support America. I just see the Iraq War as the most dangerous thing to happen to America since the Civil War. Yes, more dangerous than Word War II. In that war, our enemies were countries and were finite in number. Now our enemy is an idea and the fanatics who support the idea grow in num...

MOVIES - Tribute to a Bad Man
Starring James Cagney with a "stable" of what we'd now call stars. Saw it today on AMC. Henry (pseudo?) rifle (loaded correctly), trapdoors, Colt and Remington SAs.

45-75 Ammo - Info Update from Buffalo Arms
I just got off the phone with Red at Buffalo Arms. They've got ammo but no Jamison brass and they don't forsee Jamison producing anything but their military contract for at least 6 months. Then it is a wait and see if Jamison goes back to commercial production. Guess we need to hit Starline up again...

I prefer the longer cases but have no compunctions against using shorter cases. The .375 is about as short as you can find in a factory case. Some folks like those as a basis for the .30 Herrett or .357 Herrett as they think the brass will allow them to run higher pressures and get more performance....

Asa,
You can read pretty much everything I've done here. I'm just now warming up a couple of Lyman and Lee molds. I used a .458" sizing die and those bullets seemed to all impact in a hands breadth at about 80 yards. However I wasn't shooting at a paper target...

That Starline brass is WONDERFUL. I've only used 20 out of my bag of 250 but did get to shoot them a bit and the brass is a treat. I'm not loading the rest until I've worn out all my short brass... PS My grandfather was raised in North Blenheim and is buried in Westville Cemetery. My Aunt Vir...
