Marble Sights On a 336 CB, .38-55
I was thinking about installing a Marble tang sight on the above rifle but was told by a friend that he "thought" that the sight had to be removed to get the bolt out for cleaning. Can anyone verify this one way or the other?

Stone Fence Bullets
Is Mr. Deering out of the bullet business? I have had some of his bullets (250 grain, .378" diameter) for a .38-55 that have just been sitting for several years. Since I just got another Marlin, I thought I might load these up and fire them. I tried calling him for some optimum load information...

If the target is big enough, I'm guessing 10-12 inches, then the bead will center on it. But I'm like you. Until a better idea comes along, I'm going to try the crossed bars.

The bead on my front sight would cover that 8" at 100 yards but I can sure see where centering on crossed lines would work.

What Do You Use For Targets?
I use a receiver sight on a Marlin 38-55. While doing some load development at 50 yards, I've found that I shoot much tighter groups if I center the front bead on the target rather than shooting at the 6 0'clock position. This is fine using a traditional 8 inch target. At 50 yards, the bead fits the...

Re: Brass Trimming
Thanks Hobie. The shortest ones are 2.080" so I'll trim them to that length.

Brass Trimming
I've inherited with my new (to me) 336CB 38-55 a bunch of lightly used Winchester brass. I understand that the Starline is a better way to go but I'll have to use the the Win for now. After a short trip to the range, I was able to shoot enough to determine that this gun WAY outshines the Win Legacy ...
