That's a fairly good movie, got one of the last authentic PU sniper rifles imported back in 2013 . Once Russians invaded Crimea that was the end of Russian importation .
One I have was inspected at Tula Arsenal in 2013 and been in long term storage since WW2. Just about new condition.

Re: Best offhand group fired by me 29B
I tell ya I have two Savage 29 early and this 29B 1951 both have perfect bores and are tack drivers . These are cheap rifles ,pinned barrels but bores are brilliant shiney with fairly wide lands.
The sights are key , the bead and shallow rear notch makes a precision consistent aim.

Sadly he chose to end his own life , so many veterans never get the help they deserve and try to hide what they are feeling inside ,even from family.

More than likely just chemical dip finish.Thats how all the Italian color cased finishes are. Real cyanide color case is pretty dangerous stuff .
For the life of me out of all the 1892 copies not one copy is dead ringer for the original. Not even close.

Re: Wonder how long it would take
The chamber is fairly clean best photo I could get with dental mirror as you can see heavily pitted throat with no signs of any rifling until nearly half way through barrel . My guess leaking gas and bullet tumble is killing it from start. .315/.316 is what cases measure after firing. The Winchester...

Re: Wonder how long it would take
If I had that project, my first thought would be “How big has the chamber and throat eroded to?” You have a small number of cases fired in that rifle. What is the biggest bullet you can slip fit into the cases? There is a shortage of pistol caliber bullet molds between .314” and .355” for the .380 ...

Any of the SAA made in the last 30 years have EDM cut hand slots .Most are as rough as an cast frame in that slot.
