Re: Guess What Costs 169.00 $$$

Get a tennis ball cut a small hole in it, put it against the keyhole and whack it. It will pop the lock.

Boy am I dumb. Fired a .45 in a 45-70......

I went out last year to shoot my new Marlin 45-70 stainless gray laminated guide gun with fire sites. I was also shooting a stainless gray laminated Marlin 1894 16 inch carbine with fire sites in .45 Colt earlier. Well I shot the maiden shot in the 45-70 and then it wouldn't cycle, jammed up. Finall...

Re: OT: Lasik Warning and Vision Solution

I had radial keratotomy (RK) done in about 1993 and had them do monovision where the right eye is corrected for distance and the left for more up close stuff. It took me a lot longer than a week to feel right and I had some problems with some issues such as standing on a bridge looking down at movin...

OT: Shooting elephants in South Africa....

thought this might be interesting because of the Africa connection and the part of this story that the South Africa gov. will start shooting elephants, not by fair chase, but by shooting them in the head from helicopters rather than permitting hunters who want to hunt elephants to go after them and ...

Sharptop: I see any possibility of the first several options happening, depending on who gets behind it writing the legislation. As for Full Auto/NFA weapons, I don't see much happening there. NFA weapons weren't on the radar for the 1994-2004 ban, and NFA weapons are not mentioned on the Brady Cam...

POLITICS - Theories on possible gun bans..

Assuming a certain candidate gets elected with party control of both houses here is the way I see this playing out. The repubs will be able to block some things, but look for: 1- an outright ban on sales AND possession of "assault" type weapons which basically would be any semi auto rifle ...

That is a mating ritual. When I was 13 I was squirrel hunting back in the woods behind my house in South Georgia in late August when I heard some thumping. Looked down in the woods and two 6 foot Timber rattlers were doing that and then falling back down. Called up to the house and my dad brought do...

I love the straight grip. On shotguns and rifles. I find I have much better "feel" or connection to the gun for putting it up into firing position. The last two years I've had occasion to shoot fast running deer with my Marlin 1894 SS .44 mag. Both times I killed the deer but could not rem...

I've been using Wally World Winchester white box 240 JSP for several years now and it has killed every deer I've shot at. I have a 3-9 Bushnell scope on that gun. The other levers just have factory iron sights.

My DAWGS put a beatdown on the Warriors, but Hawaii fought hard the whole game. I hope Brennan is all right, he took a heck of a beating last night.

I have a newer 1894 which has on occasion ejected two shells at a time when unloading. It has never happened when shooting, though, so it may be that I didn't cycle the action fully and that may have contributed.

Until recently I thought it useless to own anything in a lever less than a .348 or a 45:70. I finally bought a 44 mag in a model 1894 Marlin. I've shot it some at targets, but how impressed I am at you nailing such a fine buck with what I always had considered a powerful round for a 6 gun. Good job...

Well, since I made the post that is referenced, let me describe the scene more fully and offer my thoughts. Our lease is about 700 acres in a fairly rural county that's growing. The lease looks like a cowboy boot with the toe cut off. Ridges and bottoms, some gradual, some fairly steep. A tough plac...

cubrock, I have used the "white box" for several years now. The round usually goes all the way through. On this one I hit it going away in the hip into its body cavaty and it didn't exit. The second round hit the middle of the other side quartering away and came out the opposite shoulder. ...

Nice 9 pt with lever this A.M.

North GA, Marlin 1894 44.mag w/ Winchester white box 240 grain JSP. Shot once running away and it reversed and ran back at me and hit it again. Either shot would have done it. Two beagles chased the deer right by me and appeared on its trail after I shot it. They had collars on, barked at me and too...
