What are you guys filling the hole with where the sliding safety lever was? I've heard of these being filled by welding but then the receiver has to be completely reblued. Not so cheap from what I understand.

I still have gotten around to watching that story but tell me, which SNs of the 700 line were recalled for the safety issue? I have a BDL in 22-250 made sometime between 1967 and 1969 and a Classic in 17 Rem made in either 1998 or 1999. Hope they are not affected.

That is a very unique looking revolver, especially the short version. By the way, on one of Jeff Quinn's video segments, he has shown one of these Uberti's which had the cylinder altered somewhat to accept 45ACP ammo in moon clips. He seemed to like that set-up.

Just saw a short glimpse of Uberti's new copy of the Winchester 1894 on a youtube short video. It was on one of Jeff Quinn's Gunblast segments. From what I could see, it did NOT have a tang safety and it did NOT have angle eject for us purists. Let's wish them well with this project.

If the caliber HAS to be from your list, I'd go with a Kimber 84M in 308 topped with a Leupold 2x7 scope. Overall the rifle is compact and light with a wood stock and the action uses the Mauser controlled feed/claw extractor. Safety is 3 position Winchester style. Doesn't get better than that! Now, ...

It would be economical in a revolver. You could at least gather up the empty cases, which is not easy to with a semi auto. Even finding larger cases (like 9mm) is not easy easy on grass. You'd never find any 25s.
