Re: Found a Marlin 336 Beauty
Yes you did! I have a 1977 made, bought new by an old coworker, which I bought from him in 81. He killed ? can't remember, at least one but I think a couple of these KY Mountain deer, and me several with it since. In fact, it's only rifle I've ever owned, that I can honestly say, that for me it's ki...

Thanks for the link, I haven't got that mag yet, and may not? My subscription runs out anytime, I didn't renew it. But I've come to like about anything He writes, he sure knows hunting rifles, especially pertaining to deer & elk. He often has used either a Savage 99 or Marlin levers for elk!

Whew, yeah I love it. Never had a 99, but not from lack of want, and it's in 30-30 too! Only 99 I considered buying, I believe in 2016, was in pristine shape, but my only negative was it was in 308. Don't get me wrong, 308 great cartridge, but not what I want a lever in! I already got several 30-06 ...

I figured they were, but I don't recall ever seeing any or even mentioned, but I got my first 30-30 in 1981, and a box of Win PP's 170gr also. Still have the box and I believe 3-4 rds of the ammo.

But I agree, it's hard to beat a 30-30 for year around woods rifle! But I would like to tried a 32-20, but never had opportunity!
