I always thought that the Ruger 96/22 Magnum would be a great defense gun, quickly loaded,and seeing what the 40gr JHP's at 1900fps do to sealed cans of food and water filled plastic bottles and with the 9 shot clips will let you get to a better weapon if needed.

What bullet mold did he use, just got a Lyman 257464. wish it was flat nose instead of round for my 256. Are you casting them or just using up whats left.

Well after 18 1/2 years my child support is paid up. I feel so free and IMMATURE. Almost like a mid-life crisis :twisted: , I think I am going to be a Winter Floridian :D Dont know what else to do, have no purpose in life now. Tho he is going to start college next spring.

try 4-8 grains of Unique or Red Dot, Been using that since '73 with 113gr Lee FP for a squirrel load and general plinking/shooting.

Jane's 38's are really 38-40s... much closer to .40 there.... Those old gals were a lot nicer with a little meat on the bones... I dont know why anyone would look twice at the 'stick figures' in the medial today. Have heard that models/movie stars from the old days were too heavy. If thats the case...

Funny you ask this question . Was in a Pawn shop in Bemidji, he had quite a few old levers and GOBS of guitars on the wall. I know nothing about them, but they sure looked cool and alot of them appeared to be from 50's, 60's and 70's

Here is ALLIANT'S 2005 handout shows 7.0gr of Unique pushes a 180 gr JFP 1125FPS at 33,800PSI in a 5.6 inch barrel. A hardcast bullet should go faster with less pressure,just a FWIW it also shows 158gr LSWC using 6.8 of Unique going 1295FPS with 33,900PSI curiously a 158gr JSP uses 7.8grs to go 1280...

I know you shouldnt do this, BUT I just had to know :) Used T/C Contender with 21" and 10" barrels. They averaged 910 FPS and 860 FPS respectively. Ammo was Rem t-bolt 36gr HP, this ammo averaged 1175 FPS in my 10/22 and Rossi M62. Out of 50 rounds 3 split. They all extracted easily. Group...

Lots of times, Especially with 30/30 using Red Dot and Unique with the Lee 113 and 170 bullets. Forget which manuel it was, but said Pistol primers were good for 45000 PSI, but I keep loads under or around 30000 PSI

Who here shoots there 22 at 200 yards. My 39M shoots 2.5 inches high at 100 yards. Could not find my groups at 200. Didnt have enough paper to cover area out there. So how much does a 40gr RN 22 bullet drop going from 100 to 200 yards?
