Fred Bear had skill, no doubt. Keep in mind the whitetail population in the North America probably measured in the thousands back then, not the millions we have today.

Since they made pistol caliber carbines (within certain perimeters) legal for deer hunting here in Indiana, the Marlin 1894 has commanded something of a premium here when compared to other parts of the country. The local want ads that I peruse typically have several WTB ads and very few actual "...

FP-336 is mounted to the scope base holes and the FP-94/36 in the holes drilled and tapped in the side of the receiver, right? Of course, Marlin stopped D&T the side of the receivers like 10 years ago I believe.

Forgive my Winchester ignorance. I'm a Marlin guy, even though I own a 1958 Model 94. If this 94ae doesn't have the cross bolt safety, tang safety, or a half-cock safety, what does it have, a rebounding hammer? Just curious.

I think the key component to that system is the "bio-layer" that will form over time, (ie: good bugs eating bad bugs). This is why they stress the diffuser to prevent disrupting the bio-layer and a shallow layer of water over the bio-layer so that it remains highly oxygenated. Oxygen and &...
