At one time I had a Win 94 breech bolt with a factory mounted peep sight. The sight did not mount to the top with screws like most do but was held in by the same pin that holds the extractor in. I live just across Narragansett Bay from Bristol, and was roaming around while my dog was getting groomed in Bristol by a friend.

If the bead's screwed in (which it most likely is), be aware that it may be staked in place, in which case you would be better off by drilling it out to a clightly larger size & tapping the new hole for whatever front sight's needed/wanted.

. I wouldn't dout about it...…. :) The Charter has always been a far cry from the earlier/weaker DA revolvers - with a very strong frame and an unbreakable beryllium firing pin.
