Re: 1892 firing pin

The hole in the bolt can get battered in a few places and this can cause the Firing pin (FP) to bind. Places like where the FP retaining pin goes in. There at the back where the hammer hits the FP. If the FP is a bit short there the bolt will crater in a bit. A round file will cure some of those iss...

Re: need some help

Rossi reams to max chambers so the gun will cycle more reliably. So, chambering these larger dia bullets isn't an issue. That's one of the reasons down loaded 45lc CAS ammo tends to blow by in the CAS rifles so bad. Heck, both my Uberti .45 Colt leverguns; the '66 and '73 scorch my Skyline brass wi...

Awhile back about the early 2000's Rossi was using over sized bores (.433/.434) in there 44mag 92's. At that time I was the warranty station for one of the importers. Rossi said they were OK because the SAAMI specs for 44mag in a rifle showed the larger bullet. It took almost two years to convince t...

Thanks Grizz. Just wondering whether these would have any advantage mechanically or accuracy wise over a Rossi 92? Both the 357's and the 44's started out with the 1 in 38 twist. At about the same time Marlins were doing the same. The guns did OK with full power ammo but not so well with the slower...

Steve, Thanks for buying my stuff. You might check under that rear sight too. The current production guns are drilled and tapped for a scout scope rail. (don't know why. Okay, I just bought a stainless Rossi 92 carbine in 44 Magnum. I have a 454 Cassul barrel and tubular magazine assembly. I am nearly certain that the 44 Magnum can be converted to 45 Colt — by swapping the two named devices that using ONLY 45 Colt ammunition and handloads, or by turning the 454 Cas...
