That is true Scott. I have done it myself. Last one I shot I used my 1st Generation Colt with Lyman #454190 and a full load of black powder. Instant drop and complete penetration of the skull, top to bottom.

I would say that it's not "sissy" but the wisdom of older age. Why beat yourself up if you can avoid it? That was not always my philosophy but has become so with age. And I wouldn't be as beat up as I am if I had adopted it earlier.

The 454 will do it! In 1986 Dick Casull demonstrated what he said was "the most" that you could run a 260 gr. cast bullet from the 454. He was punching them through 3/8" plate steel.

My Simply Rugged belt is more than 10 years old ... probably closer to 15. I have cut at least a foot off it since June of 2022. You can see the marks on the belt where I was. Am now down to 34" waist.
