North GA, Marlin 1894 44.mag w/ Winchester white box 240 grain JSP. Shot once running away and it reversed and ran back at me and hit it again. Either shot would have done it. Two beagles chased the deer right by me and appeared on its trail after I shot it. They had collars on, barked at me and too...

Hunting with dogs is allowed in the south. Hunting with dogs is just as much a sport as any other, however many argue the point. Many in the western part of the US frown upon it, however, they have different terrain. In the south, we have alot of swamp land, and land that is covered in thick brush. ...

+1 on what dude said. The 1863 Sharps Military Carbine had the ring mounted on the left side of the receiver where it meets the stock. Civil War Cavalry Soldiers wore a sling that went over head and rested on one shoulder while the other side went under the arm. It prevented them from loosing contro...

 I didnt know any CAV soldier ever carried a 94 winchest in 30-30!!! Kind of pointless to make a commemorative out of a gun that was never carried by those that seem to be commeorating it. I might be intrested in it if it were an 1863 Sharps Military Carbine! :D Looks to me like someone purch...

Dont get me wrong, I am originally from Texas as well and beleive me I have put plenty of lead in feral dogs and coyotes. Hell they dont even have to be chasing a calf or chicken at the time! My mom and dad still cant keep a chicken coup full of chickens. However, if you read the other story it didn...

The letter of the law always views things in BLACK and WHITE. Despite your motive, you could be charged for Killing a Deer out of Season and possibly shooting a deer and not tagging it. He could also accuse you of being the individual that shattered the deers leg in the first place. I have seen othe...

You may want to take the time to research hunting regulations before you go shooting someones dog. In Georgia, it is legal to hunt deer with dogs. Whether you agree or disagree is inmaterial, its LEGAL. If you shot my dog and I could identify you, I would ensure that you were prosecuted to the full ...

I would sight in on paper at 25 yards starting out. Then check where my bullet lands when shooting at 50 yards. Then check again at 100. Once you know your trajectory, I would think it would be relatively simple to walk the bullets onto the target at 100 yards within a 6 shot cylinder. Concentrate o...

I would only clean the metal up with oil and 0000 steel wool if you have any rust on it. Let it wear the way it should. Mind you, only LIGHTLY rub the wool in any area with RUST. Pull the lever off and take 000 steel wool and ensure any burrs or machine marks are removed from the finger that slips i...

I have 2 Marlin M-60 Glenfields. 1- rifle and 1- short barreled carbine. The rifle length barrel is excellent and has never misfed. The carbine IMO is no good. I clean both of them the same, however the carbine is much more tempermental. The one thing that I have found with it is make sure you shoot...

Slowly but surely the middle class is dying away. When it does, our society as we know it will self destruct. IMO, when it comes to the end of time we will have reverted back to the day when there were 2 classes of citizens, lords and phesants. I think we all know that that wont work. It will result...
