I can't move too fast, bad back problem. I'd expect to have a fair chance to shoot an animal as many times as I could or needed to. I have a Wild West Guns Marlin in 50AK and I'm having a modern '71 converted to 50-110. Ballistically, I can load them so close that no human nor animal could tell the difference except on paper.

Nice deer. This is one caliber I have yet to load commercially because it works so well as is. I am experimenting with different bullets and weights but I doubt I'll improve performance for what it is used for now. At best we'll offer an option for using this caliber on something a little stouter.

You can load a conical bullet to velocities in the mid 800 fps range without blinking an eye in a Ruger OA. I think that is ample if you are confident and accurate at a known distance and don't exceed it while hunting. Limit yourself to a range where you are accurate and you have velocity and energy...

Yeah - why bother (after you shot the Big 5, most of North America's game and been to Europe with yours) when you can shoot a 50 Alaskan in a Marlin or Winchester.
