Re: Thoughts on lever as bad times rifle?????????

I figure if a situation arises where a military semi auto is necessary it will wind up being issued, or an opportunity shall arise where I can get my hands on one. I also view the world stage issues likely to call for a firearm to be ecomomic. I figure my MLR .308 and 94 in .30-30 would be the guns ...

I agree with Hobie- I have owned and used a post 64 model 94 and handled and shot many others. I have owned, extensively used and regretably sold, a B92 in .357 and handled and shot a B92 in 44 magnum. The guns are apples and oranges. I had a BLR in the 80's and got rid of it because of the projecting magazine. I recently purchased a MLR (same gun just branded Miroku). I cannot say enough good things about it.

In fact I think I will be doing the bulk of my deer hunting in future with it.

Re: WAY OT: Anyone want to weigh in on a Makarov?

I would have thought the Makarov would be a good military pistol for second echelon troops- light, and only a little behind the 9mm para. Infact if loaded down with kit, I would rather carry a Makarov and a granade than a full size pistol, as the pistol on the battlefield is really only a last ditch...

Nicely done, but detracts from the guns visual appearance on the Left Hand side. Saddest thing about scoping some lever actions and bold actions.

Original leatherman, swiss army knife (One made for Beretta) and at least one folding knife- usually a Smith and Wesson (so called swat model) a Gerber 110 is often substituted for the latter.
