This may be a silly question but can you use that gun for bear protection in the back country? To me that would be an ideal canoe gun so to speak. One could paddle north on one of the great rivers for the entire summer. Oh here I go day dreaming again.

Since you will be in the area, you can drive another hour north to the Springfield Armory Museum in Springfield Massachusetts. I will be honest, it was run better years ago but it still has a good assortment of firearms that were made at the Armory as well as machinery that was used to make them.

Hmm. As a child my father and grandfather had IH Scouts. I'd love to see them brought back to life, so to speak. Simple, hard working vehicles that seemed to be very durable.

Nothing wrong with using an optic on any firearm to enhance its performance. Don't laugh but some put red dot sights on their guns for hunting the North Country.

Yes. For both archery deer and wild turkey. It is great for such an application. What I do like is that I can wear it over my work clothes and then go to work or vice versa.

I saw that on another forum. I know of a New Hampshire game warden who was trying to release a beaver from a Bailey cage trap and it attacked him. It bit him through the upper thigh and it was killed to have it removed.
