I bought a bunch if bullet from an estate sale like you described. I toook the old lube off by soaking in lacquer thinner and relubed them in a Lyman 450. I tried lubing with old lube in, but it "didnt look right" Probably wasn't necessary but it kept the mind occupied.

My friend had 6 CZ 452 variants. The Trainer was was fun to shoot with subsonics at the 100 yard gong. He only kept the 16" version and the 22mag with 25" barrel. Thanks for sharing. Todd/3leg

If you can get it for $700 or less grab it. $800 or so for one with choke tubes. Very durable and fairly lightweight. Passed up one for $750 last summer. Hanks for reminding me of my bad decision ! todd/3leg

I sold mine fir $850, it had a $100 peep sight on it. Then I found out Marlins were going for even more. I almost felt guilty but the guy was happy to get it.

Todd Love my Alaskan in 454, had a few shorties in my time but always let them go, the big ruger fits me well 300 gr. Lee cast bullet shoots nice between 900 - 1050 fos, any faster & i can start to feel it with 200 -250 gr. cast bullets around 800 fps. is fun to shoot & train myself for D.A...

Im really into buying short barreled revolvers and pistols lately. I'd have the Alaskan in 44 mag ir 454 Casull if they werent so scarce and pricey. Of course I would not shoot full power loads in them.

Just found a Ideal 452488 185gr SWC mold and a very well made semi pointed GC 250gr mold for 45. Someone sure did the last right! Looks like a 446109.

Most guns won't blow from a barrel obstruction. Extreme pressure causes blowups. This guy is funny but "barrels are brittle"? BS! i agree. in terms of metallurgy barrels are quite soft, easily cut with saws and files. idk about machine gun barrels. Well obviously they are really hard cus ...

They tried making 25/20 brass and hadabout a 30-40% failure rate. Thats what I heard from a guy that said he worked there. Id be happy if they made beefed up 22 Hornet brass.
