THANKSGIVING 2016 At the range, white target paper with black circles just doesn't work well for me because I can't easily see the bullet holes. A few years ago I started using the Shoot-N-C type of targets, which work great. So, last week I was wandering around the local 99-Cent Store and saw some...

Griff, the only 2 screws I see up front are those securing the Scope Ring to the Base. If those are the ones you are referring to, they do not go through the Base and into the receiver. Is there another style/manufacturer of a Base ?? I only the the Weaver style I have, and that picture of the Willi...

Re: Did Winchester drill, tap and install scope mounts on 94
I'll say Factory because I have that mount on my Win BigBore94 in .375Winchester. That is a Weaver scope base. All the drilled & tapped holes were already there to install the base, therefore, Factory. http://www.midwayusa.com/product/157419/weaver-side-mount-scope-base-3c-gloss With that said, ...

Another of my favorites, this one from a fellow in Michigan. About 1/4" thick, about 7" of cutting edge, a birdseye maple handle. Superb heat treat: I managed to put a tiny "bend" in the edge and the edge did not crack/facture. A fantastic chopper. http://i1254.photobucket.com/al...

One of my favorites. The 1/4"-thick Damascus steel blank (with 7" cutting edge) was hand-forged by Clint Chisan up in Canada. Dan Koster then created the knife as a custom for me. I chose teak for the handle and Dan did the rest. I've used it a bit to chop some small limbs, takes and holds...

I've done several trigger jobs on my leverguns and 1911's. I used a hard Arkansas stone. My method is to first look at the surface under a magnifying glass (or a loupe) for machining marks.
