My Miroku 1892 is the most accurate levergun I own and is smooth as silk. My only complaint is that their finishes are not as good as "real" winchesters

The advice about shooting dangerous game a 2nd time is absolutely sound! Heck I once had a Tom turkey, who I was 100% certain was deceased, wake up and nearly tear my @$$ apart. I finally had to lay on the dang thing and wring its neck before it killed me.

The black bear I have killed with 357 mag sure didnt know the difference between it and a 44 mag. They all died nearly instantly. My handloads will literally turn a coyote inside out

They do not shoot the same bullets. The same diameter, yes but in most (not all) cases the projectile designs are different. The 308/30-06 shoot faster and flatter than 30-30 and deposit substantially more energy on target. I suppose in theory you could single load your 30-30 with projectiles meant ...

Even the most basic AR10 with a free float barrel will be more accurate than an M1A. While I like the platform the M1A requires A LOT of modifications to come even close.
