My wife's car was doing the same thing. One day it sputtered and died. Turned out to be the intake manifold gasket letting go. GM 3800 V-6.....$800 repair bill. He should probably get it checked out soon.

Back in the late 60's thru the 70's I had a 722 in .222 Rem mag with Weaver K6, a 700 ADL in .222 Rem with Weaver K8, and a 700 BDL in 22-250 with Bushnell 3x9. I burned 120 rds thru the SKS, 60 rds .38 spec, 50 rds .32 acp, and about 200 rds .22 lr..........plus 2 shots from OI's Howda. Working (6p-6a), sleeping (630a-2p), spend couple hours with the wife then start again. Most of the relatives, both living and passed on, are in South. Illinois....the Son and Daughter are doing their own thing with the my grandkids. So, more or less just another working weekend.

When I was taking training for NRA Certificates, the instructor put on a demonstation. He placed a 30-06 round on a hot plate and placed a cardboard box over the whole thing, when the round cooked off nothing penetrated the box, did the same thing with a 12 ga round, same effect.

I have one, they are a good shotgun. Have no idea how many rounds have gone thru it but it just keeps on ticking. I keep it accessable and loaded with #4 buck shot just in case. I wish I had been awakened the night my dog was killed by 2 Rotwilers, I think the outcome would have been very different.
