that 99 looks just like my 243... I have hunted with that rifle for many years and is very accurate. Love that thing, lost count on how many deer that has shot in the last 30 years.

Dad worked with a threashing crew for several years and back then you counted pennies and true gasolene was expensive. low grade gas was full of lead to where it would foul the plugs. tractor fuel was so low burning point that you had to ...

JDL, I just looked in my LYMAN 43rd edition at the 32-40 load... It had what I thought was gray highlighting, numbers very visible through it, thought that was the choice the former owner of the book had used... Thank you for the warning, I am drawing a line through it now so no one ever confuses it...

Thats what I thought...wood looks like its for round barrel. Took it 'apart' last night, it was tight fitting. Once it broke loose, then it was not quite as bad. Now that leads to next question... Being the forward half has been changed, and the caliber goes with the barrel, I wonder what configurat...

Thank you for the information, 3855, Off of other scources the serial number was for the year 1898. But Cody records shows the date as serial number applied in 11-15-1901... That alone was interesting. Then 1 1/2 months later it gets into the warehouse...and five months later is shipped out. 30 cali...

The crux of all this is, 1. If this is just an old generic 1894 as in 30WCF makings, (hundreds of thousands sold), It is not worth the letter... OK, are the Miroku Brownings and Winchesters 1886 totally interchangeable? Can one take the browning receiver and put on the Winchester barrel on or are they different in their threads and dimensions?
