Re: Indian with Marlin lever, old photo.

All this talk today about indians. I got thinking about a indian friend I had back in wisconsin 46 years ago. Thought I would share the story. Lets call him ben. That wasnt his name. I was a foreman on a very rough job treating old utility poles for groundline decay and traveled all over the states ...

You ever look close at one of the luger holsters? Its a two handed operation just to open the lid! They really are a box with a cover and strap. Inside they even have another string to pull to lift the gun! Really you almost think they are a exicution tool for etreminating polish!

This is a 1906 german commercial lugar in 7.65 with a ideal shoulder stock I used to own. Would you belive it came from the same area! I bought it 40 years ago from a lockheed engineer that was a early well known pioneer in radar. Col. gary kubasheck. I belive he lived in pasadena! I sold it long ag...

I can see your point. Ironicly, one of my best friends here just got laid off truck driveing. He and his wife drove team up untill a few years ago. Then they settled down and bought a place here. She quit driveing and got a waitress,s job. He drove local and got laid off about a month ago. They have...

Sorry for the thread drift, but did any of you catch what obama said a week or two ago when he said he wanted to FORGIVE student loans if they chose a goverment career? Re: OT- Great old photo of man with Sharps rifle.

For that picture to be made in 1895 he would have to be about 57 years old. I have a picture of my mom sitting on her lap taken about 1916. She looks 200 years old on it! I would guess him to be about 28 years old on this one, makeing it about 1866? I assume they got married right after the war. I h...

Re: OT- Great old photo of man with Sharps rifle.

Generaly speaking, I would guess that most of those camp hunting pictures we see date to around 1905 up. I dont think many private people had cameras in the 1890s yet. I have quite a few of our family pictures that seem to start around 1915. Usualy you need a big magnifing glass to see much. My wife...
