Need data for obsolete powder please.
A friend came up with some Winchester 780BR powder that is clean and smells fine. Long obsolete but he wants to load it in his .270 behind 130 gr. Bullets. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks !

A look in your favorite load manual will reveal several powders that will give velocitys in that range.

Our gun club has Boy Scout activitys, shooting and camping. Several Eagle Scout Badges heavy been earned by projects that improve our club. I hope that doesn't change.

Griff , Aren't the patersons five shooters ? How can you go to the line with the hammer down on an empty chamber and still shoot a normal stage of ten pistol shots ?

I personally think it's hard to beat a inexpensive Skinner post for a good sight picture. At $15 they work great with a tang sight, and are easily filed down to get the perfect height for whatever rear sight you use. I sometimes work them over with a file to get them thinner. I have the Merits . Both for eyeglasses and to screw into the rear sight. On the glasses for handgun and rifles without peep

I sure like my Springfield 9mm. It is very accurate and has never had even one FTF / FTE , and it has only been fed reloads

I have several set up like yours and have never had to have a taller front sight to zero with factory ammo,either

I made rocket engines using empty rifle cases and black powder. Bell the case mouth to form the rocket nozzle, Add water to the powder to make a paste, pack the case full of the powder paste,let it dry in a sunny window for Several days. I used to subscribe to a dozen different magazines at one time until I got AR/1911 burn out. I personally own several of both guns but just how much can be said about either that is fresh and not done a million times? Now I get Handloader,Rifle, the Fouling Shot and that is it.

Very nice , and yes,muzzle loaders do offer lots of need for gadgets like powder measures, horns,ball starters etc. that one can make.
