Re: Why do I want a 30-30??
Very interesting reading indeed. I have been using Unique and light slugs in my levers fr years with results that mirror the author's. 300 gr cast for the 450 and 45-70 Marlins light 180 gr bullets in teh 444 and 110 plinkers in the 30-30. What fun!

Re: Why do I want a 30-30??
No I can't relate. I have 3 .30-30s (one of which is a SINGLE-SHOT! ). Wouldn't willingly part with any of them. Don't know what you hunt or where you hunt that makes them useless. Don't know why you'd post that here except to fire up some controversy. Absolutely not my intention at ...

I live in Wyoming. Most of my shots are over 200 yards. Very rarely do I get an opportunity to hunt the timber and if I do it is always for elk.

Why do I want a 30-30??
About the most useless rifle I can possibly get for my type of hunting!!! Still want one! Stigmas................. Not as accurate as bolt guns..... Low bc bullets can only be safely employed... Limited power.... (again all of the aforementioned are not in fact general hindrances, but inapplicable t...

What scope on which rifle?
OK got a marlin guide gun in 45-70 and a Marlin 336 in 30-30.
I have a Weaver v3 (1-3x20) and a swift 1.5-4.5 x20mm.
Question is ( and it is an academic one) which scope on which gun?

Re: 356 Winchester
If the 94 doesn't work out, you can always get a 336 in 35 Rem and have it rechambered for 356 by a good smith like Nonneman. He charged me $150 for the job. $300 for a used rifle plus $150 - $450. Probably less than the 94? Here's mine: http://www.gunsnet.net/album/data//500/HPIM1455.JPG Way less ...

356 Winchester
Hi guys!
I am shopping around for a 94 356 Win. I am considering several deals but will definitely buy one and I am buying all the handloading supplies. Anyway, what are you favorite loads in this caliber?
Bullets, powders, velocity Accuracy etc.... Thanks!
