I’m fortunate in that my cousin offered his cabin and thirty plus acres for me to hunt . I call it a cabin but it’s actually a house someone built maybe twenty five years ago . So it’s quite comfortable to say the least .

Did a tower shoot in WVA 10/29/23 shot a Parker Grade 1 10 gauge top lever hammer gun 32” barrels tight and tight on a #3 frame guns a little over 9 pounds . When I was accumulating Winchester rimfire pumps I wanted an 1890 in WRF as well as a 61 in 22MAG but never acquired either . Now my only WIN pump is an 1890 in 22 Short my grandfather bought new in the 20’s .

FWIW my slugs are cast from an alloy of 50% clip on wheelweights and 50% pure lead . I do not shoot these in rifled barrels but smoothbore only . Also all of what I load are typically in a shot cup , wrapped with mylar or wrapped with of all things masking tape . And for what I do with them it works...

Dove are usually in short supply in my freezer . Pheasant and Partidge seem to take the most room of the fowl and always seem to have enough quail for 10 or so meals by seasons end . I have never had the pleasure of shooting an 8. But I have 3 10's. I can tell you the federal 10 gauge slug electrifies a deer with a chest shot. When Charles Dalys were made in Prussia they made a drilling that was 10 -10 and 45-70 . It was a hammer gun by the way . It isn’t a Parker but I’d like having one .

The double Parker on the pheasants i shot a good bit during a round of sporting this past Saturday . I was trying out a new to me load of Green Dot with an ounce of 7 1/2’s . Did pretty well actually . I carried three guns this one another hammer and a DH all Parker and all 10 as well as 32” .
