AJ, I would go with the 22 K hornet you can use jacketed or cast in it and you can get 100-300 fps more velocity with the K. I hope you have good luck with your 77-22 hornet they are notorious for big groups. danny

I dont follow on the idea of using reduced loads in a truck rifle for SD yes for a mercy shot on a injured animal on the road if you dont have a 22. gunfights are tough enough with a standard rifle with spec ammo using a reduced case, powder or bullet can cost you some hide. danny

With the regular military looking for a new pistol and ammo to replace the Beretta it will probably be the 5.7x28 with 20-30 rds mags. if you want to improve the 9 or 45 just use a fmc truncated cone style bullet for combat, as recommended by Jeff Cooper. the 45 fmc ball I field tested in RVN wouldn...

OS its bullet length not weight, a 117 spire point wont shoot well but the 117 RN does, a mono bullet 100 probably is as long as a 115-117 lead spire point. 4064 is a dadgum good powder but for the 250 & 300 sav there are better powders when using the heavier bullets. danny
