Re: Something you hope never to see overhead...

I don't worry when I see them riding a thermal, but these guys were on the ground in the county road that runs along my fence line. I stopped to see what they were interested in, but didn't find anything. My place is open country there, nothing in the road and nothing in the short grass on the other...

I was poking around in my shop today and came across my "new and improved" barrel vice. It had been long enough since I made it, I had forgotten it. Here's the old one that used the jack. http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c258/20cows/101_1781.jpg Here's the new and improved. http://i29.pho...

I have taken 'em off and put 'em back on. I made similar action wrench and made a barrel vice that used a 2 ton bottle jack, 2 7/8" all threads and blocks of oak inletted to hold the barrel.

I didn't know they'd ever made a pistol gripped BLR. (I don't get out much).

I think it would be worth the risk to buy the take down model and try the swap. You can't lose even if the parts won't go. :D

With the straight tapered cases, it is much easier (to me anyway) to reload than the 30-30. I collapsed shoulders when crimping the 30-30 a lot when was using jacketed bullets with no cannelure. I either crushed shoulders or let the bullets push in the case from the magazine spring. My solution was ...

Cool project!

I do have a storage question though. Do you leave the traditional (non-compound) bows strung all the time? This can cause them to take a set and lower their draw strength.

I didn't know if the cart is for shop/home storage or for access at tournament.

I suppose, with all the places you must pass through to get the load delivered, that it ain't kosher to carry all the match equipment in the truck for such opportunities? (Just in case?)
